IMPHAL, December 11: A press release from Thadou Students`™ Union, Chandel president Vum Khongsai has stated that the allegation made by Naga Peoples`™ Front, Chandel that TSA has been acting at the behest of polictions in power is totally baseless because it is a purely philanthropic students`™ organisation which firmly stands for upholding the interest of people of the district.
It said that the site for the construction of 2500 MT FCI godowns at Molnol Village, Tengnoupal Sub-divison, Chandel District is the most feasible after considering several factors such as communication, security, transportation, topography etc. Besides, the site which is located near the National Highway No 202, Asian Highway No 1 was proposed by former CAF&PD minister Yumnam Irabot and his team that included two MLAS and concerned officials of the department in 2010, it added.
Stating that the final confirmation was given by a team led by current CAF&PD minister Okendro on April 19 this year, the press release said that some vested interests had caused the delay in the construction of the godowns.
TSA made an appeal to the government to execute the construction work immediately in the interest of the people at Molnol Village.
