IMPHAL, Dec 13: The Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Nagaland and Manipur) has said that the union has decided to shun any kind of blockade, bandh, general strike, dharna etc., to all the Zeliangrong inhabited areas in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland which may hurt the sentiments of the common people and hamper development projects at the same time.
According to a release of the union, the decision was taken after a prolong consultation of the ZU with the prominent economists, intellectuals, human rights activists, social workers and ZU elders.
The union also appealed to all the civil organisations, frontal organisations and UG groups not to call any blockades, bandhs and general strikes during the festive season in the interest of the general public, it said.
