Editors` Guild takes decision not to cooperate with DIPR

IMPHAL, Jan 10: The Editors`™ Guild, Manipur has in a meeting held today decided not to co-operate with any work related to the DIPR.

A statement signed by its general secretary said that the stand was taken in regard to the incident where an APO of DIPR tried to assault the president of the Editors`™ Guild, Manipur.

The Editors`™ Guild has been demanding transfer of the APO and not to allow him to handle any press related activities.

The matter has been apprised to the Chief Minister three times however as no action has been taken in regard to the matter the Guild has taken the decision of non-cooperation stand, said the statement.

The members of Editors`™ Guild, Manipur will not take part in the training program which will start from January 12 organized by DIPR, it said.

The meeting also agreed on encouraging the use of Meitei Mayek in newspapers and to avoid using of foreign languages.

The meeting also appealed to the media houses to follow the guild`™s decision as agreed upon during the meeting.
