IMPHAL, Jan 20: A powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded this morning under the Lamlong Bridge, Imphal East district. However, there was no human casualty reported due to the explosion.
The explosion comes amidst the intensive security measures taken up ahead of Republic Day celebration.
Official sources said that the explosion occurred around 7.45 am on the eastern side of the bridge.
The IED was reportedly detonated using a remote device.
