IMPHAL, January 25: The curfew imposed in Thoubal district especially in the bandh effected Lilong area has been lifted today at 8pm following an understanding brought between the Joint Action Committee form against killing of Iliyas and Chief Minister of Manipur.
Subsequently, the LIPUL has also suspended its indefinite general strike in Thouhal district.
The JAC against the brutal killing of Md Iliyas Khan today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Manipur with a charter of demands.
In the memorandum the JAC demanded to hand over the case, killing of Iliyas, to the CBI besides construction of a Library in memory of the deceased.
It further demanded to suitable job to the next kin of the victim and also pay a compensation of rupees one Lakh each to the injured.
The JAC further warned to intensify its agitation if the demands are not fulfilled by January 26 at the same time not to claim the lifeless body of Ilyas.
