Reconstructed MTC building inaugurated

KANGPOKPI, January 17: The reconstructed Manipur Theological College building at Kangpokpi Mission Compound has been dedicated to the service of God by Reverend Dr W. Konghar, General Secretary of Manipur Baptist Convention yesterday.

A mysterious inferno burnt down the upper floor of Manipur Theological College at around 11:30 pm on April 19 last year destroying properties worth around Rs. one crore and twenty lakhs including Rs two lakhs in cash.

All the important files of the college kept in the Principal and VP room were also totally burnt to ashes. Various electronic items, furniture and many reference/important books were also destroyed.

The dedication function of the reconstructed building was attended by various Church leaders, CSOs leaders, students, well-wishers, intellectuals and village chiefs of neighbouring villages.

The congregation gave thanks to the Almighty for enabling the authority concerned to reconstruct the building on time.

On behalf of the College, MTC principal Rev. Dr. LT. Haokip expressed gratitude to the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen, MBC secretaries, associations, churches, Kangpokpi Area Relief Committee, Singapore friends, well-wishers, individuals and institutions for their generous contribution in terms of labour, materials and finance for the reconstruction of the building.

While praying for blessings to one and all for the good things they have done for the College, Rev Haokip further called upon everyone to render maximum support and cooperation towards the college in serving the people and the society.
