`Younger generations must be prepared to face challenges of globalisation`

IMPHAL, December 31: Wishing prosperity with the coming of New Year 2015, the Democratic Students`™ Alliance of Manipur, DESAM held a press meets at its head office located at Keisampat Junction, Imphal today.

During the meet DESAM`™s president Moiranthem Angamba wished all the attending media fraternity a prosperous and healthy new year. He further said that media is taking key role in the nation building and maintaining integrity of the nation.

He said the new generation must be aware of developing trends, economic strategies and central new policies implemented in the State of Manipur like the `Look East Policy`™, `ASEAN highway`™ etc. He noted that the young generation of the State must be equipped to cope up with the change of globalised world.

He warned that if one is not prepared to meet the rapid change in the economy of the globalised world, the indigenous communities along with their tradition and culture might get washed away by 2050.

Angamba elaborated that our State is lacking behind in almost every aspects. He added that to bridge the gap, DESAM in association with civil society organisations will work hand in hand to uplift the education system of the State.

He further lamented of the incident wherein media persons were subjected to harassments while executing their duties. He said publishing and carrying unbiased and constructive news by the media fraternity will always help in the development of the State.
