IMPHAL, Feb 28: In a first of its kind incident in the state, an administrator of a Children Home raped over 10 underage girls in Churachandpur district since consistently in the last three or four years, stated police sources on Saturday.
The incident of sexual harassment of the juvenile children of North Eastern Children Home (NECH) by its administrator came to light after a 15 years old girl resident lodged a written complaint with the Officer-in-Charge, women police station, Churachanpur on February 25 at about 3:30pm.
The written complaint stated that in the month of December 2012, she was repeatedly sexually abused by the administrator Timothy L. Changsan and at the same time another 15 years old girl of the home too lodged a similar complaint of sexual harassment.
Both the juvenile girls stated in their report that Timothy L. Changsan used to threaten the girls with dire consequences if they spoke to anyone and forced sexual intercourse with the girls without their any consent.
According to local sources, the accused Timothy L Changsan had sexual intercourses with around 14 underage girls who are staying at the home.
The accused has been arrested by the police and has been remanded to judicial custody added the source.
