IMPHAL, February 21: A 14 member delegation of Dhol Cholom led by W Lokendrajit Singh, production unit in-charge and Ksh Kriti Singh, Guru JNMDA is going to participate in the festival of India in Singapore for the Chingay Parade 2015 being organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Indian Embassy in Singapore from February 27 to March 1, 2015.
A statement released by N Ibetombi Devi administrative officer, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal, said the group will present the performance of Dhol Cholom on February 27, 28 and March 1 at the parade ground.
They will leave Imphal on February 23 and return to Imphal on March 4.
The release also announced that the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, an autonomous body of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, has selected L Upendro Sharma, Director JNMDA as a member of Empanelment Committee of the Council, it said.
It further said that the Committee under the chairmanship of Lalit Mansingh, vice president ICCR shall review and screen the application received for Empanelment and to give recommendations for their inclusion in the reference panel as also upgradation of artistes for foreign programmes.
The meeting of the 11 member committee of eminent critics, art administrators and renowned artistes including Sunil Kothari, Santa Serbjeet Singh, Leela Venkataraman etc shall be held from Februar 27-27 at New Delhi.
