KANGPOKPI, February 3: The Kuki National Front (Nehlun), who is suspected to be the militant outfit behind the abduction of the three workers of ABCI Infrastructures Private Limited on January 23 categorically denied its involvement in the case and clarified that they have nothing to do with abduction today.
Speaking to media persons today somewhere in Sadar Hills, information secretary of the outfit, Gogou Vaiphei said that though KNF (N) has been suspected and alleged to be the abductors of the three workers there is no such unsolicited activities on the part of the organisation.
He continued that since the outfit has been blamed in the case we have constituted a committee to investigate the matter and according to the committee`™s finding no cadres of KNF (N) is involved in the case, he said.
We also came to know that the three workers of ABCI identified as excavator driver Raju Robidas of Lalpani, Jirighat, Assam; excavator operator Vinod Kumar of Madhupur village, Bihar and Shiva Narayan of Bihar were engaged in the road construction work from Chandrakhong to Kasom Khullen only after the investigation asserted the outfit information secretary.
Gogou Vaiphei further said it is very unfortunate that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded road construction work from Thoubal to Kasom Khullen in Ukhrul District has been ceased after the three workers of ABCI Infrastructure Private Limited, which is the implementing agency, were abducted while it is also equally unfortunate that we (KNF-N), who is truly innocent in the case has been faultily blamed for the incident, he added.
We would like to openly clarify that KNF (N) is not involved the abduction and kidnapping of the three workers of ABCI and strongly denied the false allegation upon us Gogou Vaiphei claimed.
While warning to initiate befitting punishment to any individual or group using the outfit`™s name to defame the organisation, Gogou Vaiphei also warned that those involved in the abduction and kidnapping of the three workers too will be given a befitting punishment if the outfit happens to nab them.
