IMPHAL, February 24: Taking serious note of the ongoing cease work strike by the Council of Teachers`™ Association, the Co-ordinating Committee of Colleges Students Union has urged to the Government to work out an amicable solution within three days so that students of Government schools can resume their classes without any further delay.
Speaking to media persons at DESAM head office, Keishampat this afternoon, Michael Houbijam convener of CCCSU said that if the cease work strike still continues at this juncture the students would have an adverse impact on their academic career.
As all the colleges are following the semester system, they might not be able to complete the syllabus on time, said the concerned student leader.
DESAM general secretary P Premchandra charged that the Government`™s attitude towards the issue has violated the right to education.
He also urged the Government to work out a solution and ensure uninterrupted classes for students.
Mutum Tikendrajit, co convener also urged the government to solve the issue within three days. If the government fails to bring an amicable solution, students union along with DESAM will launch a stronger agitation against the government, the student leader warned
