IMPHAL, March 28: There is no future for the Congress Government as the Union Government has now started monitoring and investigating their malpractices, corruptions and irregularities in various developmental works in the State alleged Thounaojam Chaoba, president BJP Manipur Pradesh.
This was mentioned during a one day political awareness cum Mega enrolment campaign of BJP held at YPA Hall, organised by the BJP Churachandpur District Mandal today.
He further said that this time the people of Churachandpur have to show their strength in ensuing the ADC election on May 30 is free and fair, and goes the BJP way.
He said that the BJP has shown the people how the Congress Government in last 13 years has made the lives of the common people miserable. In this ADC election it is everybody`™s responsibility to defeat them, he said.
Let us teach the Congress a lesson this time, as we the people now know the malpractices of the Congress and the sorry plight to people this has resulted in.
The BJP is targeting ushering in a clean and corruption free administration in Manipur needs the support of people of Churachandpur and the rest of Manipur, he said.
He charged that in the past ADC elections Congress used money power and muscle power besides manipulating EVM machines to sweep them. The ADCs have not resulted in devolution of power, instead they have only resulted in concentration of power in the hands of MLAs and Ministers, he further charged.
Choaba said that now that everybody knows the State Government has totally failed in governing, the people need to change the Government and seek a alliance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi`™s government at the Centre.
The BJP needs people`™s support from every section of Manipur, he said. The Congress in 13 years gifted the much hyped Khuga Dam to Churachandpur, which was inaugurated in present of Sonia Gandhi, but Khuga Dam is today a total failure, neither providing power or irrigation to Churachandpur people, he said.
Churachandpur has 24 seats for ADC, this time BJP will fight in all the seats, he said. The BJP has intending candidates for all the seats in Churachandpur District, he added.
`We hoped that BJP will succeed in all ADC seats and this will be the first step to changing the system of entire Manipur and Churachandpur district`, said Th Chaoba.
M Asnikumar General Secretary Administration BJP Manipur Pradesh said that in the last 13 years of Congress rule the state Chief Minister Okram Ibobi have not reached out to Churachandpur District and simply was a mute witness to the grievances faced by Churachandpur district.
The leaders of Congress only express concern for the people of Manipur but these have turned out to be only lip services, seldom meant to be translated into practical reality on the ground.
Failure of Khuga Dam project is the gift of Congress government which displace many villages of Churachandpur but the people still are not getting sufficient portable water or water for irrigation as promised by the Project, he said. The BJP has found some Rs. 24 crores misused in connection with the construction of the Khuga Dam, Asnikumar said.
In this regard a high power committee had been constituted under the chairmanship of Okram Ibobi, but the scam has been effectively hidden from the public, he charged.
The BJP will dig out this multi crores scam which might affect some MLAs or Ministers from Churachandpur, but the BJP never compromises on corruption, he added.
TT Haokip said that in the last 13 years Congress has won elections by using muscle power, money power and EVM manipulation. They have also introduced no sign of development whatsoever in the state, apart from MLAs and Ministers becoming multi millionaires, he added.
If elections were conducted in free and fair no Congress candidate would succeed in election, he claimed.
So now that the people know the foul play of the Congress, he appealed to the people to thrash the corrupted Congress government in this ADC election and in upcoming Assembly Election 2017 in the State.
During the course of the day, the president BJP also meet with the intending candidates of ADC election in the Churachandpur district.
