IMPHAL, March 31: The Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) is all set to celebrate the closing ceremony of its yearlong diamond jubilee celebration from April 1 to 5 at its complex.
Addressing a press meet at the academy complex this afternoon, Director of JNMDA Upendra Sharma said that as a part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration, the JNMDA has organised over 13 programmes inside and outside Manipur successfully.
The inaugural function for the closing ceremony will be attended by O Ibobi Singh, CM of Manipur, Shekhar Sen, chairman, Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi Ratan Thiyam, chairman, National School of Drama, New Delhi and Lalit Mansingh, vice president, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, he informed.
Meanwhile, in a press release, the academy has also informed that the festival of `Namaste Kazakhstan and Namaste Uzbekistan`™ will start from April 2-8 sponsored by ICCR, New Delhi. 12 member artistes of the dance academy will take part in the fest by presenting Pung Cholom, Thang-Ta and Dhol Cholom.
