IMPHAL, March 2: Demanding resumption normal classes and drawing government`™s attention to address the issue of the ongoing cease work strike by the All Manipur College Teacher Association (AMCTA), the Modern College Students Union (MCSU) volunteers today set ablaze some of their classroom furniture`™s.
Speaking to the media persons, Chanam Amujao, Finance Secretary, Modern College Student`™s Union said that there were no classes in colleges which is under AMCTA since February 18, 2015.
Various students`™ organisations have been demanding the government to bring an amicable solution between the two (Government and AMCTA) but the government is turning deaf ear into the matter.
He further said the colleges all follow semester system and so exam are scheduled in May. This being the case, how are the students to give the exam without any classes, he lamented.
If the government still remains silent the students union also will continue with various agitation in the coming until their voice is heard.
