LAMKA, April 2: Ralkapthuom , a former town commander of Hmar People Council, D (HPC-D), was found dead at Thingkangphai village late last night.
Sources informed that his body was thrown there by some unidentified persons after killing him. His body sustain injuries made by a shape object like a knife.
The lifeless body of Ralkapthuom alias KT Hmar, 44, son of (L) Saikaplien, of Moulvaiphei, was handed over to his family members at around 12:30 pm after a post mortem examination was conducted at CCpur District Hospital morgue.
Churachandpur District Police have registered a case in regard to the incident.
Nobody has claimed responsibly for the killing yet.
Meanwhile, the Zomi Youth Association (ZYA) has in a release expressed their resentment and condemnation regarding the killing of Ralkapthuom, terming it an act of barbarism.
ZYA said this kind of act is unwarranted and should be shunned at any cost.
It said that this kind of act is detrimental to the peaceful atmosphere of the society at large.
