KSC demands resignation by UNACCO chairman to end imbroglio

IMPHAL, April 4: The Khongman Students`™ Club has stated that its members unanimously resolved to bring an amicable solution between the inhabitants of Khongman and UNACCO Group in a meeting held on April 3 at 8.30 pm at the premises of the club, a release said.

According to the release, the terms the club set included resignation of the current Chairman and Managing Director of UNACCO School, N. Irabanta.

It demanded the construction of surrounding drains and roads of the campus at the east and west of Khongman where the development of Infrastructure are being carried out. It further demanded Chairman to give back the posts to the staffs who were suspended and to take back in the students who were expelled.

The term further stated that if any changes occur in the Administration of UNACCO Group, School Management Committee, N. Irabanta along with his wife N (o) Premabati, P. Geetchandra and School Administrator, Shyamchand should be removed permanently. It demanded that a Pradhan representative and a guardian representative should be included when a new School Management Committee is formed. A week will be given to UNACCO group to discuss on the terms, it said.

It further included that notification should be sent out to all through media and to the clubs of Khongman should UNACCO Group agree to the terms. The agreement should be sent to Thongju A/C MLA, Pradhan of Khongman G/P and ZP members through a written statement.

It also stated that UNACOO staff, P. Geetchandra should make a public apology regarding the wrong impression of Thongju A/C MLA made by the staff. Lastly, it stated that the clubs will close down permanently all schools and institutions run by UNACCO Group at Khongman if they fail to accept the terms, it said.
