IMPHAL, April 24: A one-month long Youth Leadership and Personality Development Programme being organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Chandel commenced today at Rural Development Society (RDS) Training Centre, Kongjom, Wangjing in Thoubal district.
Director of Rural Development Society Training Centre, Khongjom, Kh Robindro Singh; Member of District Advisory Committee on Youth programme, NYK Thoubal, K Lokendro Singh; former State Project Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathans Imphal, Nonibala Yengkhom and District Youth Coordinator of NYK Chandel, W Ibohal Singh graced the inaugural function as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Giving key note address on the occasion, W Ibohal said that the training programme is being organized under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India while informing that the programme will be held in 41 districts of six states of the country.
A total of 30 youths from Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal and Chandel district are participating in the training programme which will be held in two phases, he added.
Maintaining that the first phase of the programme will cover various national flagship programmes, self employment schemes and its implementation procedures, he informed that training on agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, traditional vocational trades under Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Small & Medium Enterprises and Community Foods & Nutrition will also be held during the programme with the sole objective of generating jobs for unemployed youths.
