IMPHAL, April 15: Anti- AFSPA crusader Irom Chanu Sharmila has today expressed remorse and surprise over the State Home minister and deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam`™s failure to meet her even though appeals had been made earlier in January.
Sharmila was speaking to media persons outside the courtroom of CJM/ Imphal West Cheirap Court complex today after her routine appearance before the court.
She said she only wanted to highlight her grievances to the deputy Chief Minister.
It is unfortunate that the deputy Chief Minister is trying to refuse or delay meeting her, Sharmila said while adding that she never expected him to be like that.
It is also surprising that the deputy Chief Minister has decided to remain silent on the issue even after the appeal was made long time back, Sharmila continued.
She further appealed to the government against neglecting her grievances in such manner.
