IMPHAL, Apr 28: Claiming that 3000 students of the state pursuing general degree, technical, medical and paramedical courses, who were selected for availing scholarship under `Ishan Uday`™ of UGC have been deprived of the scholarship amount of the scheme on account of Canara Bank Manipur Branch not being include in the designated lists of the bank, the Thoubal College Students`™ Union has urged the concerned authority to intervene into the matter considering the future of the students.
In a press release, the students`™ union informed that the 3000 students are amongst the 10000 students from the north eastern region selected for availing the scheme.
If the concerned authority fails tom come up with steps to avail the scholar amount of the scheme for the students then the union along with the students who have been deprived will launch intense agitation, the release cautioned.
