IMPHAL, April 27: The 48-hour bandh being called by All Manipur Police Constable (Male) 2013 Batch that had started from yesterday midnight and the 24-hour bandh imposed by the JAC of All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers`™ Association 2006 Batch (AMHDCBTA) from 6 am of today did not affect normal life in the state.
There were also no reports of any untoward incident in the different districts of the state during the bandhs.
As usual, oil tankers arrived here in the capital by the Imphal-Dimapur road, NH-2. Oil pumps in different parts were remained open during the bandh. Passenger service vehicles were also operated.
However, affect of the bandhs was felt along NH-37 and Imphal-Jiribam Road as passenger service vehicles including empty and loaded trucks stayed off the road.
As announced earlier, United Naga Council (UNC) in pursuit of its demands will also be imposing a 48-hour bandh in Naga inhabited areas with effect from midnight of April 27.
