IMPHAL, April 12: The Zomi Students`™ Federation (ZSF), New Lamka, Churachandpur has endorsed the ban imposed on all national projects by Manipur Hill District Contract Basis Teachers`™ Association (AMHDCBTA) in pursuit of their demand for regularization of teachers recruited on contract basis in the educational institutes in the hill districts.
According to Benjamin Haumuon, general secretary of ZSF, the federation is an apex body of Chiru Students`™ Association (CSA), Simte Students`™ Association (SSA), Mate Students`™ Organization (MSO), Paite Students`™ Association (PSA), Tangkhul Sinlai Puwl (TSP), Vaiphei Students`™ Association (VSA) and Zou Students`™ Association (ZSA).
He said that the teachers were recruited on contract basis to meet the shortage of teacher in the primary and college level educational institutes in the hill districts.
The general secretary demanded the government to regularize all the teachers before conducting a new recruitment of teacher.
