BISHNUPUR, May 12: At least two persons were killed and three badly injured when a Tata Ace passenger vehicle they were travelling crashed into an electric post and hit by a speeding truck at Ngaikhong Khunou, Keinou village in Bishnupur district yesterday.
The deceased have been identified as Oinam Angouyaima, 54 son of O Samu of Leimapokpam Mayai Leikai and Wahengbam Thethe, 34 son of Late W Laiba of Leimapokpam Makha Leikai.
Reports said the Tata Ace vehicle with around ten passengers was coming from Moirang towards Imphal when its driver lost control of the driving and hit an electric post in high speed. After being hit by the truck, the vehicle fell into a grazing field killing two of them.
The injured persons were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their identities could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report.
