IMPHAL, May 5: Scrutiny of candidature for the ADC election will be conducted at the DC Imphal West complex for all the six district councils on May 7, State Election Commission secretary Th Chitra Devi said.
Meanwhile, according to official reports, altogether 218 candidates filed their nominations today at their respective ROs including at the Imphal West DC office complex.
The candidates include 26 BJP candidates, 61 from Congress, 46 from NPF, 79 independents and three from JD(U).
In Chandel altogether 52 candidates filed their nominations including four from BJP, 13 from Congress, 12 from NPF and 23 independent; in Churachandpur 32 candidates filed nominations including three from Congress, 28 independents and one from other parties; in Sadar Hills, 52 candidates filed nominations of which 11 were from BJP, 20 from Congress, five from NPF, 14 independent and two from other parties; in Senapati four candidates were from BJP, six from NPF and two independent; in Tamenglong district 41 candidates filed their nomination including nine from BJP, 16 from Congress, 10 from NPF and six independents while at Ukhril 20 candidates filed their nomination papers including five independents, 12 from NPF, and three from Congress, according to the official sources.
