IMPHAL, May 13: A blessing ceremony for KH Fortson BJP candidate for 17-Houchong Circle ADC under Tamenglong Assembly Constituency was held at the residence of the candidate at Nungtek Village today.
The blessing ceremony was led M Asnikumar General Secretary Administration BJP and in-charge ADC Tamenglong District, Adim Panmei, member state election committee BJP, Bontiya Keising vice-president Mahila Morcha, Dr Antas Khan special guest from BJYM and K Bikram, and attended by 2000 BJP workers from seven villages.
In his speech, Asnikumar said that after witnessing the crowd of today`™s blessing ceremony, he is more confident of a BJP victory in Tamenglong District.
He further said that Tamenglong holds the future of Manipur as it is richly endowed by Mother Nature with natural resources. The district holds lots of potential for horticulture and other forest produces.
The detriment to development has been bad road connectivity, no drinking water, no electricity, no proper health and education centres and unemployment.
All these malaise is a result of the Congress government`™s apathy, he charged.
We need to showcase Tamenglong`™s potential before the country. We need to wake up from the stupor infused by false promises of the Congress government. We need to see through the crocodile tears of the Congress, he added.
He said only yesterday the Deputy Chief Minister made many promises in Tamenglong but he has probably forgotten all of it after reaching the valley, he charged.
One day Tamenglong will be included in the global economic map and become the most important route for South East Asian Country after the railways has touched it, he said.
In last ADC election, members were selected not elected, he mocked. The members were kept in a coop like boiler fowls chicken at Chingmeirong ADC quarters. They were used as sacrificial goats on Rs. 9,000 salary per months. The central funds for Autonomous District Council on the other hand were drained by Congress MLAs and Ministers and diverted into their own pockets instead of putting them in development works in Hills district, he further charged.
Asnikumar said that this is the right time to try the BJP in our State and we can begin this in the ADC election. This will be the first step to capturing power in the 2017 Assembly election he said.
