IMPHAL, May 21: A hand grenade planted by unidentified persons was found at the main gate of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur at Takyelpat under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West this morning around 8.10.
Reports said the hand grenade which happened to be of point 36 high explosive type was wrapped in a polythene bag. On coming across the bomb, the institute authority immediately informed the police.
Shortly, a bomb disposal team of police came in and retrieved the hand grenade safely, the reports added.
No organization has claimed responsibility for the act till the time of filing this report.
