Kuki and Meitei students together appeal for calm

IMPHAL, May 14: The Kuki Student Organisation (KSO) joined hands with valley base student`™s organisations to strongly condemn the inhuman killing of the two labourers and brutal torture of a 12 years old boy by Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF).

The joint body also condemned the act of the agitators at Patsoi where one Shaktiman driver was killed and three seriously injured after mob attacked them.

The victims were identified as (L)Seemkhongam Haokip s/o Nehkhokam Haokip (49) of K Songlung village,Shaktiman driver, Nehminthang Haokip s/o Semkhothang Haokip (35) of Songlung village, Thangminlun Khongsai(21) s/o Lalgin Khongsai and Lunminhao Haokip (21) s/o Lunagam of Songlung village are the handyman.

Speaking to the media person during the press conference held today at RIMS, administrative block Poutin Luphen, president KSO said that even after Kuki Inpi Manipur has earnestly appealed to both the communities for self restraint and calm, regretfully today the carnage took place.

He also appealed to both the communities not to endorse anything that could further heighten the already volatile situation.

M Angamba, president DESAM appealed to both the Kuki and Meitei communities not to spread any false rumours aimed at creating communal tension between the two communities.

Both the incidents were unfortunate for the people of the State he added.

Angamba also said that the incident which happens today was not at all related with the previous crime committed by the KRF.

He further said let the government and the law of the land take up the action and punish the culprits and further appealed to all not to create any communal friction between the two communities.

Angamba also said that if the Government takes up the action by sending the security forces in the sensitive areas in time, this kind of incidents might not have happened he added.

The KSO and the valley base organisations strongly appealed to the Government to protect the people of the State and also not to let this unfortunate incident happen again in future.
