IMPHAL, May 28: In condemnation of the arrest of one Kangujam Birsing, 37 son of Late K Inakhunba Singh of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai, Bishnupur district by personnel of Assam Rifles stationed at Maibam Lokpa Ching, a sit-in-protest was staged by locals at Waheng Khuman Chingphu Keithel today.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Meira Paibi Waheng Khuman secretary recounted that Birsing was picked up by the AR personnel from his residence on May 25 midnight on the pretext of interrogation.
But later, it was known that he was handed over to Imphal Police Station, she said. She mentioned that Birsing, a father of three children is an innocent person who is looking after his family through fish framing.
