LAMKA, June 28: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Churachandpur district today inaugurated the party`™s temporary district office at the Hmar Veng, Churachandpur in the presence of its newly appointed leaders.
The temporary office was inaugurated by the BJP Cpur district president J Haokip.
A short gathering chaired by one of the party`™s seven district vice president DK Mang in charge of organisation introduce the new 42 functionaries and office bearers including Mahila Morcha president Tinkhonei Haokip, Youth Morcha president George Neihsial, vice president in charge of ST & Kissan Morcha Thienkhongam, vice president among others.
The meeting also resolved to open the office everyday in between 7-9 am.
Meanwhile, replying to media queries, J Haokip said the BJP during a recent meeting in Imphal had resolved not to approach or joined the newly floated Hill Peoples`™ Alliance formed by the 17 elected ADC Churachandpur members, unless the BJP is approached by them or the HPA merges completely with the BJP.
At the same time, if at all it is happening, it has be through proper channels which is through the district BJP office, he said.
A party candidate in the recent ADC election from Lanva DC constituency, Thanga Tonsing stretch on the importance of more action from the party as the State`™s general election were near.
It may be recalled that the BJP, CCpur had a dissident group led one Lhunjang, however, on June 22, the dissident group returned to the party under the district mandal president J Haokip during a formal unification cum felicitation of the party`™s lone victor in the recent ADC election MDC Seilienmang haokip at Songel Community Hall, where they pledged to stay united and serve the people of the district.
