A decision has been also taken during the meeting to take up necessary steps to foil any unwanted incidents which could be cropped up out of the border dispute, he said.

Okendro maintained that the meeting further decided to appeal the Committee for Koziirii and Dzuko Land Boundary Resolution to call off its ongoing indefinite economic blockade along National Highway-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) that had started from June 1 midnight.

Disclosing that the Cabinet in its meeting resolved to hold a special examination for Class X and XII students who missed out last CBSE examination due to affiliation controversy, the Minister elaborated that examination of Class X will be conducted by BOSEM based on its syllabus while examination for Class XII will be conducted by COHSEM according to its syllabus.

He further informed that the Cabinet meeting also decided to discontinue implementation of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) Scheme in the schools under Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur from the current academic session.

Under the scheme, a total of 20 marks used to give as internal assessment to students of Class XII schools under COHSEM. There is a high possibility of students of science stream securing first division easily as schools have the option to give the total 20 internal assessment marks to its students. Students of science stream could easily clinch first division if the internal assessment marks is added with total practical mark of 30. Such rule of mark distribution can affect quality of students. Therefore, a decision has been taken to scrap implementation of the scheme, the Minister said.

It is said that COHSEM had not taken permission of the government regarding implementation of the scheme from 2011.
