IMPHAL, June 1: A combined team of District Police Commando Bishnupur and 7th Assam Rifles has conducted a search operation at Torbung Mamang Leikai on May 28.
According to a release of PRO, Police Department, an active member of Hmar National Army (HNA) organization, Lungtrau Olice Ramhluthar alias Wilson Hmar, 25, son of Late Liensang Hmar of Khomoi village, Churachandpur was arrested during the operation.
From his possession, one 9 mm pistol along with five live rounds was seized. A case has been registered at Moirang Police Station and investigation is going on, it said.
On the other hand, a team of District Police Commando Imphal West including Women Police conducted frisking and checking near the gate of Cheirap Court Uripok on May 30.
During the frisking and checking, one active member of KCP (Poirei) organisation, namely Sorokhaibam Jamini Devi, 47, wife of (l) S. Rajen Singh of Lamsang Thong Maning was arrested. Three demand letters of KCPC (Poirei) and other incriminating articles was seized from her possession. A case has been registered at Imphal Police Station and investigation is going on, it said.
