IMPHAL, June 2: The Muslim Council Manipur (MCM)`™s president Md Ajimudin a residence of Mantripukhri Muslim Bhasti was allegedly held captive and tortured by gunmen before being released.
According to general secretary of Muslim Council Manipur, Haji Arafat Ali today, Ajimudin was kidnapped by four armed miscreants at gun point on May 31 last around 7 pm.
While under the custody of the abductors, Ajimudin was allegedly tortured by the miscreants, said the MCM secretary adding that he was released only after forcing him to sign on a blanked paper.
The MCM`™s secretary further informed that it had convened an emergency meeting with regards to the incident.
The meeting strongly condemning the incident demanded clarification from the perpetrators the motive behind the abduction within three days through the media or contact to 9856133807.
In the event of the failure to response, the MCM will file a case with the police, he concluded.
