Imphal, June 17: Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Nihal Chand Meghwal arrived this afternoon at 1:30 pm at the Imphal Tulihal Airport.
Later around 5pm, speaking at the BJP office, the Union Minister said he is from Rajasthan and was an MP when Th Chaoba incumbent BJP Manipur Pradesh president was a Union Minister.
He said the Union government is keen to provide development funds to the State, but the State government should show transparency in utilizing the funds.
He said there is no need for Manipur to be left behind in development.
The Central government has increased the Panchayati Raj fund allocation from 32% to 42% recently and it will reflect in the 14th finance commission for all States of India, said Nihal Chand Meghwal.
