IMPHAL, July 4: The BJYM Manipur Pradesh will be launching its `Explore Manipur`™ mission to identify the potential tourist spots in each of the districts of the State, announced president Oinam Malesh while adding that it will be a month long mission.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet at the office of the BJYM, Manipur, Malesh further explained that the BJYM is much concern of developing tourism in the State, however, the Congress government seems to have no interest in it.
The government is more interested in contract works, he alleged.
Malesh said nature has gifted lots of tourism potential to the State, and it needs to be explored.
Tourism could give hope to the future of the State, however, the failure of government to chalk out a proper policy so that the potential of the land gets outside exposure and attract tourist inflow, he added.
With this aim in mind, BJYM national president Anurag Thakur who is an MP will inaugurate the mission from the office of the BYJM Manipur tomorrow, he said.
A report on the potential tourist spots recovered during the mission will be uploaded on the facebook page and website of the BJYM, he said.
Malesh also said that they will submit a memorandum to Anurag and the Union Minister of Tourism seeking proper guidance from the Centre in developing tourism in the State.
Tourism, he said has the potential to solve the problem of unemployment in the State.
He said the first expedition will be to Dzuko Valley.
The team will also meet with people of Mao who have been affected by the recent boundary dispute, he said.
Vice president, BJYM Manipur Yumnam Gopi also said that two national secretaries of the BJYM Saynthan Basu (administration) and Doni Nich (in-charge Manipur) have arrived in the State today to partake in the mission.
He also said that Anurag will be meeting members of the Manipur Cricket Association tomorrow at Luwangpokpa.
