IMPHAL, July 15: JCILPS Students` Wing, Kakching in Thoubal district has appealed to Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) which is leading the mass agitation demanding implementation in the state to intervene into the unwarranted remarks of Councillor of Yairipok Municipal Council Ward No 9 Th Nokul who allegedly tried to project volunteers of the committee and people of Kakching in wrong manner regarding the ILPS movement.
In a press release, the JCILPS Students` Wing claimed that the remarks of the Councillor was published in a local daily and several TV news channels on July 12 in connection with the untoward incidents that took place during a protest staged on July 11.
Such unwarranted remark is unbecoming of a Councillor who is there to help and regard the wishes of the people, it said.
It also expressed discontentment on the state forces for highhandedness meted out to protestors including students who are demanding introduction of ILPS to safeguard the indigenous people.
