BISHNUPUR, July 10: The JCILPS Women Wing convenor Lourembam (o) Ngambi and three other women leaders of the committee have been picked up by the police while they were trying to conduct a press conference regarding the present ILPS issue.
They were picked up from Bishnupur Khuman around 1:30 pm as they were about to address a press conference.
However, after the women leaders pleaded that they be allowed to address the press conference, the police relented and allowed them to do so.
Addressing the conference before her arrest, Nganbi said the JCILPS will not end the movement until the ILPS or a similar Act is implemented.
She said the curfew on the non-locals would be made indefinite and the committee will demand a murder case against the personnel involved in the killing of the young student during the ILPS protest.
