IMPHAL, July 6: A 17 years old disabled girl was allegedly raped by a man from the same locality, identified as Chongtham Rohit, 25 alias Ronald, son of Chongtham Radhakanta of Mutum Leiaki, Keisampat.
Briefing media persons, a relative of the victim said that the incident occurred on July 1 but it came to light later as the victim`™s mother was out of station when the incident took place. The victim`™s mother is the only one in the family, who can communicate with the minor girl who is dumb.
The victim`™s ordeal of the rape was known only after her mother came back.
According to the victim, the accused Rohit sneaked into the room where she was sleeping from the backward of the house and raped her forcibly.
Rohit chose the backward of the hosue to enter into the victim`™s room as other family members were present at the ground floor.
Family members of the victim are demanding life imprisonment for the accused for his heinous act.
