IMPHAL, July 4: The armed United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has clarified that two individuals namely Hemkhothang Touthang and Jangmang Baite of Jangngoulen Village were apprehended from Molcham village recently for their covert and overt involvement in activities of Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) and that they were never assaulted as alleged by KNLF/KNO but punishment of highest degree is waiting them if they fail to mend their ways in future.
A statement signed by MP Haokip, Secretary Information and Publicity of United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) said the outfit had enlightened the two individuals who were apprehended based on the information disclosed by two cadres of KNLF on certain issues pertaining to Kuki nationalism since they missed some vital points.
“The press statement of KNLF/KNO shows that they themselves were nothing but armed gangs of a certain political party and we find it very shameful. Their statement mentioned something called `Zo-land` which is a foreign terminology to the Kukis. At certain point of time they talked about Zalengam in Burma, sometimes Kukiland sometimes Kuki State in
Manipur and now Zoland and next what? This clearly indicates that KNLF/KNO do not have a political vision. Kuki people should be aware of such rudderless ship that will take them to nowhere`™`™, it stated.
“As for the UKLF, we always stand for honourable settlement of the Kuki political problem from the inception till now and nothing else. UKLF is of the Kukis for the Kukis and by the Kukis. This is our standpoint`™`™, it added.
Strongly condemning the attack on the personal residence of Pu Mangi Aimol, Unit-III Public Relation Officer (PRO) of UKLF at Aimol Satu village by some miscreants belonging to the same village on July 2 evening which resulted in the damage of properties worth lakhs of rupees, the statement said such thoughtless attack on a senior national worker is uncalled for under any circumstances.
