IMPHAL, Aug 27: A 14-year old boy has been admitted at the Shija Hospitals and Research Institute with symptoms of Japanese Encephalitis since August 25, informed a source.
The boy is identified as Laishram Kishan Singh, son of L Kiranchand Singh of Khundrakpam Awang Leikai.
The report has come out after another young boy from Tamenglong was confirmed positive of Japanese Encephalitis.
Reports said he was first admitted at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and was later shifted to Shija Hospital on August 25 around 10.30 am.
After several necessary medical tests including Magneting Radio Imaging (MRI) were conducted at the hospital, doctors suspect the boy could be suffering from Japanese Encephalitis.
However, the final confirmation will be made after collecting his blood sample tomorrow, infomed the source.
Test of the blood sample will be conducted either at JNIMS or RIMS.
A medical team of State Health Services, Imphal East District has paid a visit to Shija Hospital today to enquire health condition of the patient, the reports stated.
