IMPHAL, Aug 11: A man who was hospitalized at Shija Hospital due to severe injuries he suffered in a road accident that took place at Uchiwa Leirak Achouba under Mayang-Imphal Police Station in Imphal West on August 10 around 3 pm, succumbed today.
The deceased has been identified as Yumnam Nipamacha Singh, 50 son of Y Nityai Singh of Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai.
He was injured grievously when a scooter he was riding collided with a fast moving auto-rickshaw. The auto-rickshaw fled from the scene.
He was immediately rushed to Shija Hospital for treatment but died this morning around 8.20.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
The dead body has been handed over to the deceased`™s family members after performing post mortem examination at RIMS morgue.
