Chandel, September, 11: After assuming office as chairman of the ADC Chandel, KSM Matthew Maring has urged the State government to afford all infrastructures and requirements necessary to help the ADC Chandel function smoothly.
Addressing newspersons at his office in Monsang Pantha, new chairman KSM Matthew Maring expressed strong concern over the lack of basic infrastructure and office materials, security arrangement and vehicles in the ADC complex.
He further urged the State government to afford the necessities at the earliest and help the ADC function effectively.
Alleged the State government of slowing down the process of ADC formation, he said election of chairman only came into effect four months after the results of ADC election held on June 1 were declared on June 10.
The newly appointed chairman also lamented that they had to start functioning even though there are number of problems including incompletion of quarters for members, chairman and vice-chairman.
Further elaborating the vacant posts of the vice chairman and executive members, Matthew said the posts will be filled up soon.
He further appealed to all members and staff of the ADC to attend the office on September 14 without fail.
The Committee on Formation of the ADC Chandel has also welcomed the election of the ADC chairman held in the district headquarter on September 9 saying it is a step to pave way for the ADC to start functioning soon.
The committee also said that the government must immediately devolve power and function to the new chairman and to respect and honour the proceeding and conduct of the election.
If the government fails to allow the ADC function from the present head office located in Monsang Pantha Village, the committee will launch serious forms of agitations, it said.
Any move of the government to shift the sitting of the ADC members outside of the district will be strictly dealt with and the government must be held responsible for all outcomes, the committee warned.
