IMPHAL, September 28: Lieutenant General Harminderjit Singh Sachdev, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles, arrived in the State on a two-day visit to HQ IGAR (South) from September 28 to 29, informed a PRO IGAR (s) statement.
It said the DGAR was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the State by Major Gen VS Sreenivas, VSM**, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South). The DGAR reviewed the operational preparedness of the formation during his first official visit to the State.
The DGAR appreciated the endeavour of IGAR (South) and also conveyed his whole hearted support to their relentless efforts in tackling the security challenges, it said.
The Director General lauded the efforts of the soldiers for ensuring peace and tranquillity in the state and asked them to continue the good work in a professional manner and in the true spirit of the `Friends of the North East People`, it said.
