Eastern Army Commander visits State

IMPHAL, September 24: Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command accompanied by Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, 3 Corps arrived in the State on a one day visit to Imphal on September 24.

According to a release of PRO IGAR (South), the Army Commander reviewed the operational preparedness of the formation during his official visit to the State and lauded the efforts of the soldiers for ensuring peace and tranquillity in the state.

He also asked them to continue the good work in a professional manner and in the true spirit of the “Friends of the North East People”. The Army Commander called on Chief Minister Sh. O. Ibobi Singh at the CM’s Secretariat. During the meeting, the security situation in the state was discussed and the close coordination and interaction between the State Government and Security Forces was lauded.

The Army Commander and GOC 3 Corps extended warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of “Id-Ul-Zuha (Bakr-Id)”. They also convey their earnest message of peace, harmony and unity on this joyous occasion and wish that the goodwill will bring us all together for ushering in a prosperous era in Manipur, the release stated.
