KANGPOKPI, Sep.11: Masses of Leimakhong area under the aegis of Leimakhong Area Chief Organization held a massive Dharna today at Leimakhong bazar in protest against the three anti-tribal Bills and the brutal killings of tribal youths in Churachandpur.
Around 2000 people from various non-Manipuris including Kuki, Naga and other minority within Leimakhong area staged the Dharna in the heart of Leimakhong bazar attended by various civil organizations leaders, 22 village chief of Leimakhong, church leaders, social workers, intellectual and members of JAC Sadar Hills.
Various placards which reads, `Hills never move, Tribals never move`, `Let Manipur be a better place to live`, `Tribals have a right to live equally and peaceful life`, `Rubber bullets for Valley and Live bullets for the hills tribals`, `We won`™t rest until we get Justice`, were displayed in the dharna.
Many speakers from various non-Manipuri communities and village chiefs strongly opposed the three Bills during the simple function held amidst the dharna and accented that the three Bills passed by the State Assembly are the annihilation of the tribal rights and privileges.
SL. Paokhosei, Ex-MLA and Advisor of Leimakhong Area Chief Organization while speaking to media person sought the realistic sense of the common quotation `Chingmi Tammi Amatani` from the state Government as well as the majority community leaders.
Whose language is `Chingmi Tammi Amatani`, Is it the language of the hills people or the valley people? asked Ex-MLA.
Elucidating his point of disapproval over the famous quote the Ex-MLA illustrated that when it comes to implementation the words, `Chingmi Tammi Amatani` is totally contradictory in hills and valley while adding that `Chingmi Tammi Amatani` is only a stylish discriminating, witty and shrewd words of the state Chief Minister and other leaders from the majority community.
Therefore, the tribal populace now wants to know the true meaning of `Chingmi Tammi Amatani` in realistic sense averred the Ex-MLA.
He continued that if the state Government is authentically lucent enough to review the MLR & LR Act why all the files and documents of the hills people which are in the detention of valley DC are not transfer to Hills DCs.
`Is the DCs of the valley are first class and the hills DCs third class?`, asked SL. Paokhosei while adding that the passage of the three bills not only signify the dreaded evil design of the state Government but also the unanticipated atrocious approach of the majority community.
The Ex-MLA and LACO Advisor further said that when any bills is to passed by the State Assembly it should looks considered whether the bills could change the inconvenient of the people into convenient, bad to good and good to better.
But, with regards to the three Bills passed recently it truly signify that Manipur Government is only one sided Government for the people added the Ex-MLA.
He also pointed out that it is time for the state Government to value the life of its people while sincerely condoling the bereaved families of the tribal Martyrs and pay his pompous salute to departed souls.
`We don`™t want Manipur to be a broken state`, lamented the Ex-MLA before adding that such intimidating approach of the majority community towards the tribals and other minority community in the state which can fracture the state integrity is very much unfortunate.
The JAC Sadar Hills leads the public sloganeering, `Ibobi Government `“ Down, Down; Tribal MLAs `“ Shame, Shame and We condemn- the three Bills`.
The Leimakhong Dharna`™s also observed a minute standing homage to the Tribal Martyrs during the function.
