IMPHAL, Sept 10: A 24-year-old who was injured in the recent movement demanding ILP in the State, Konthoujam Tombi Singh son of K Rajen Singh of Lamboi Khongnangkhong Uripok was successfully operated today at JNIMS.
Tombi was hit by a police fired tear gas shell injuring his right ear. He was admitted at the RIMS but was shifted later to the JNIMS.
Convenor of the JNIMS Relief Committee K Seityajit said `Two doctors namely Dr N Kumarjit and Dr Monika Karam conducted the successful operation which lasted for more than two hours on Tombi`™s right ear this morning.`
He said the relief committee will bore all the medical expenses for Tombi`™s treatment.
