IMPHAL, September 26: Anti-Armed Forces Special Powers Act 1958 crusader Irom Chanu Sharmila will be appearing before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate 1st Class, Patiala House Court complex in New Delhi on October 6 and 7.
Sources informed the IFP that the State Home department has made all preparations for Sharmila’s cour appearance in New Delhi.
Permission of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West who had ordered judicial custody for Sharmila has already been acquired.
The department has also sanctioned the amount required for Sharmila’s two day stay in New Delhi and transport, informed sources.
It is also learnt that air tickets for her and the team which will be accompanying her will be booked by Monday.
It may be mentioned that Parliament Street Police Station New Delhi had arrested Sharmila in October, 2006 for staging hunger strike protest in pursuit of her demand at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. Subsequently, a case was registered against her under FIR No 222/06 U/S 309 IPC.
