IMPHAL, October 29: Chief Secretary O Nabakishore Singh was presented with `My Stamp` made with his photograph on greeting theme by Vinod Kumar Director (Posts), Manipur, said a press release of the superintendent of post offices HQ Manipur.
A statement said `Vinod explained that My Stamp is a unique service of postal department under which a person can walk into the philately bureau of post office and can get her/his My Stamp prepared.`
It said Chief Secretary showed keen interest in My Stamp service and urged the people to get it printed for their family members and friends.
He suggested that My Stamp will be a special attraction during the Sangai festival, Vinod assured that department of Posts will make special arrangement for printing of My Stamps in their pavilion for the people visiting the festival so that they can take it as a souvenir of this festival, it said.
Vinod intimated that My stamp can be gifted to some near and dear on her/his birthday, anniversary or any other memorable day which people like to preserve forever, it said.
Another My stamp with Taj Mahal was gifted to Nidhi Mani Tripathi, secretary Tourism who also showed keen interest in this service, it said.
`My Stamp` is a personalised stamp and more than 12 themes are available on various tastes like flowers, historical monuments, fairy queen train and Air Force plane etc.
He intimated that Taj Mahal themes is most popular among all people and people like to get their My Stamp with this symbol of love, it said.
Director (posts) and Chief Secretary also discussed about the use of Meghdoot postcards carrying the message for creating awareness about various schemes among the people in Manipur.
Meghdoot post card is the fastest selling stationery in the whole country which is being sold at 25 paisa only, it said.
Director (posts) intimated that any government department, NGOs and private business person can use Meghdoot post card service for making their products & service popular among the members of public. These postcards can be sold in the areas identified by the proponents.
