IMPHAL, Oct 2: A gang of burglars broke into the office of Amateur Athletic Association at Kongpal Kongkham Leikai last night and made away with properties worth more than Rs 50,000.
Club members said the items taken away by the burglars include a solar plate, a battery, two grass cutter machines and a sound system. The club authority has also filed a police with the Porompat Police today.
According to the general secretary of the club, I Bakimchandra Meetei the incident came to light only this morning. He said the club office was found ransacked this morning.
No arrest has been made so far.
He further appealed to all civil organisations and individuals to inform the club regarding any information.
Bankimchandra also appealed to the State authorities concerned to look into the incident as there has been a spat of robberies in the surrounding areas in recent times.
