IMPHAL, October 4: Once there is peace in the State, it will naturally bring development and financial stability, Member of Parliament and BJP Manipur in-charge Prahlad Singh Patel said in Kakching today.
The Lok Sabha MP was attending the Pt Deen Upadhyaya Prashikshan Maha Abhiyan 2015 organised by the BJP Kakching Mandal at the Ibudhou Naohal Lai Mandap, Kakching.
Speaking at the function, he said it is not just sufficient power supply which could bring about development, but peace will ensure development on its own.
He said the main theme of today`™s function is to impart an in depth understanding of the BJP`™s ideology and working system to the masses.
Since Indian got her independence, BJP has been following the `Sab ka saath, Sab ka vikas`™ ideology in trying to uplift the lower strata of the society, he observed.
He said it is unfortunate that the Building and Other Construction Work Labour Cess 1996 is still not implemented in Manipur.
Its implementation would tremendously help the labourers he said, and explained further that under the Act, the government has to bear all medical expenses if a labour gets injured while working.
The present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced many schemes for the poorer sections of the society and the senior citizens, but it has been a real challenge to reach out the schemes to its actual beneficiaries, he continued.
He elaborated Manipur has immense potential for economic growth as the land is blessed with natural beauty and once peace is ensured economic growth is possible.
Today`™s function was also attended by office bearers and volunteers of the Kakching, Wabagai, Hiyanglam and Sugnu units of the party.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba, general secretary (organisation) BJP Manipur Sh Premananda Sharma and general secretary (Administration) M Asnikumar Singh also attended as the president and guests of honour respectively.
Later during the function, 29 beneficiaries of the MUDRA scheme were handed over loan sanction letters including seven by the Allahabad Bank and nine by the UCO Bank.
Meanwhile, the BJP Manipur in-charge had attended a MUDRA scheme awareness function at Ukhrul Town yesterday organised jointly by several banks including district units of SBI, UBI and UCO banks.
Speaking at the function, the Lok Sabha MP had highlighted the benefits of the scheme.
He had said the general public need to be aware of all the programmes taken up by the government in order to avail the benefits.
Prahlad said under the MUDRA Bank, loans are provided up to Rs 10 lakh to small entrepreneurs.
MUDRA would benefit small manufacturing units, truck operators, artisans, fruits and vegetable sellers, hair saloon, beauty parlours, shopkeepers, hawkers, in rural and urban areas, he said.
Many beneficiaries from different walks of life attended the function.
Prahlad Patel had also distributed sanction letters of the loan to beneficiaries of Ukhrul district.
On the other hand, he had also attended a two days district level BJP training program on worker/leaders level in Ukhrul where he instilled party worker on how to become more responsible BJP karekartas and underscored certain Dos and Don`™ts of the party.
Premananda Sharma, Organising Secretary of BJP Manipur BJP unit also shared the dais in the closing function.
Similar training programs were also inaugurated on October 4 at Imphal East, Kakching and Khongjom of Thoubal district.
Patel also visited all training camps and delivered speeches.
