CHURACHANDPUR, November 24: Womenfolk of Churachandpur today came out against the JAC Churachandpur’s decision to bury the ‘nine tribal martyrs’ on November 30.
The protesting womenfolk “All Tribal Women’s Union, Churachandpur” convened at the New Lamka Community hall and submitted an appeal to the KIC leadership and later went to the JAC’s office and informed the JAC that they will not tolerate the decision to bury the nine on November 30 and support the Manipur Tribal Forum Delhi decision to wait until the Centre give a positive respond to their demand.
The union has further identified four sites which is the most desired to them namely New Bazar Bus Station, Police station, peace ground and Kangvai.
It demanded the JPO, Innpis and JAC to reconsider the decision to bury the nine on November 30 as there are still not any specific accomplishments of any of their demands pertaining to the three bills and to wait until and unless a clear cut position and arrangement for the tribal of Manipur are spelled put by the Centre.
