GUWAHATI, November 20: Eclectic NorthEast, the premier English magazine of the Northeast, celebrated its 9th anniversary and also launched the beta version of the Eclectic NorthEast website, at Guwahati Press Club, said a press release.
It said, the Anniversary Special Issue was unfurled by the noted intellectual Prof. Udayan Misra of Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, and Tanushree Hazarika, Managing Director of Eclectic NorthEast, Nasreen Habib, Executive Editor of Eclectic NorthEast and several other prominent media persons from the region were present at the event.
Tanushree Hazarika spoke about the illustrious journey of Eclectic NorthEast, which carries news of all the eight states of the Northeast though based in Guwahati. She also spoke about the launch of the beta version of the Eclectic Northeast website and said about news to get updated every minute and as a monthly magazine is unable to keep up with the latest trends. She also spoke about ‘Eclectic Conversations’, a series to be conducted at various educational institutes addressing some of the most pressing issues of the region with active participation from students, said the press release.
It said, Nasreen Habib spoke about the November Anniversary Special Issue 2015, which featured 8 youth icons like Angarag Mahanta from Assam, Mary Kom from Manipur, and among others who dare everyone to dream for a changed world. She also spoke about highlighting individuals who are doing good work in the Northeast, be it someone famous or relatively unknown.
